Some Recent Purchases: Essence Skincare, Hats and Feathers amongst others.

Dear Readers,
Probably most of you are out partying. Tonight I decided to stay in and watch a good movie instead of going out clubbing. I only party when I really feel like, or else I don't enjoy it. I had a tough day today, it's hot and I don't feel like braving the people in the clubs, so here I am sharing a few of my recent purchases with you all.

My first purchases are a couple of skincare products. As you may know, I'm a big fan of 'Essence' make-up, so when I found out that the same brand does a skincare range, I wanted to try it immediately. The first thing I bought from the range is the 'My Skin Soft Cleansing Gel' and I've been using it for a week already. At first I thought it would dry my face but I was pleased to find out it didn't. It does clean the face very well, and it smells really nice. I don't know why I always mention the scent, but anyway. The product retails at about 2/3 euro and it's available from many pharmacies. Check out the Essence Facebook Page if you're Maltese and you want to know whether your local pharmacy stocks the range!

My second buy from the same range were the 'My Skin Refreshing Cleansing Wipes'. All I can about these facial wipes is that they've really impressed me! I can't believe that such an inexpensive product can yield such great results. Unlike many other cleansing wipes I've used in the past, the 'Essence' ones really clean your face. I've used tons of other facial wipes that promise to cleanse your face but leave way too much make-up and dirt on your face. So much so, that I would need to wash my face even though I would have cleansed with a wipe. But these wipes are different! They're perfect for post-clubbing cleansing when you're really not in the mood to engage in a 10 minute cleansing routine. They're very refreshing as well. All in all, I recommend them with greatest pleasure :)

I don't usually buy products from the 'Simple' Skin Range, but I decided to make an exception. I needed a good facial scrub that I can apply once or twice weekly and I reached for 'Simple Kind to Skin Smoothing Facial Scrub' (quite a mouthful, right?). After using this product for a number of times, I can say that I like it. It's not overwhelmingly great, but it does its job nonetheless so I'm happy with it!

Facial Masks are an essential element of my beauty regime and I make sure I apply a mask at least once per week. I know many people like to buy those facial masks that come in little sachets for around 3 euro. I switched from using those masks to using 'Simple Kind To Skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask'. Don't get me wrong, I won't say I don't llike mask sachets, because I've used them over and over again. But I did see a noticeable difference when I started using this product. I also think it's more worth it to be honest. This product costs around 5 euro and it lasts for at least 2 months (I apply once or twice per week). When I bought those sachets I used to spend around 3 euro per week.

Those were my skincare purchases so I shall now move on to clothing and accessories. Most of my clothing purchases were made at a clearance sale in Gallerija in Fgura. There's a great variety of good clothes from Peacocks and Orsay at ridiculous prices ranging from 1 euro to 10 euro! It's like a huge thrift store, but the clothes are all new and from this season. So make sure you visit it! :)

I want to start by showing you the collar necklace I bought from this clearance sale because I can't believe I've managed to find it at such a cheap price. I got it for one euro! Yes, just one euro! I can't believe it. Don't you think it has some really pretty details on it? For more about collar necklaces and detachable collars click here to read my post about them.

Another good find at this clearance sale was this Dirty White Fedora Hat which I've worn every day since buying it. As I recall telling you, I do have another white fedora hat but this has a wider brim so I decided to pick it up as well. All accessories at the clearance are at 1 euro, including hats, so I think I've grabbed myself a bargain.

Another 1 euro accessory from the clearance is this chunky bead necklace that looks too summery and pretty to abandon on cold shop shelves. I think the gold details look simply lovely and I'm a huge fan of gold and black jewellery so I'm glad my dear mummy bought me this little bargain. I hope the gold doesn't fade as it does sometimes. Oh well, I'll enjoy wearing it while it lasts :)

Do you like this flower headband I got quite a while ago? I had totally forgotten that I bought this until yesterday. In fact, I forgot to show it to you guys as well. Though I didn't get this from the clearance sale I mentioned, this piece is also by Peacocks and it was on sale too. The flowers are in a lovely peach colour which I adore. I've got no idea whether Peacocks do them in other colours though! I believe I got this for around 3 euro.

More from the clearance! Most of the tops at the clearance are sold at 2 euro, which is incredible considering the amazing pieces that I've managed to find. The first top I bought is this very feminine lace top with a rouched sleeve detail. I've been looking for something like this for ages and I finally found one! I haven't worn this yet because, obviously, it's too hot for it, but I do have an idea of how to style it already. I guess I've just found another reason to look forward to Autumn :)

Many might not like my second top but I guess it's okay anyway heh! I fell in love with this top as soon as I saw it. It's so unique with its feathers and chains that I just had to get it. It has 'Lara Boffa' written all over it. I'm definitely pairing this with a pair of shorts, preferably black, even though I still don't own a pair and this lack frustrates me.

My last purchase from the Fgura Clearance is a dark blue coat I got for 10 euro. Freaking unbelievable! Enough with the incredulousness, let's get down to business and describe why this coat is so awesome. First of all, it's a coat and we all know I can resist a man but I can't resist a coat. Secondly, it has a bow and I personally own more bows than the International Bow Organisation (Yes, I just totally invented that association). Thirdly, look at those sleeves. Anyways, you got my flow I hope. It's awesome and I had to add it to my collection of over forty coats and jackets.

Here come my last two purchases for this post and guess what they are? Surprise, surprise, HATS! I'm slightly addicted to hats at the moment so please bear with me. I got both of these hats from Tally Weijl. The first is a straw boater hat which I can see myself wearing ad nauseum until Summer is over. I have another straw boater hat but my other one has a white, lace ribbon and this one has a black ribbon so I guess it's marginally different. Yes, that's an excuse. But it was 3 euro only, so I won't go to hell after all. As I said, I got the other hat from Tally Weijl as well. The black porky hat (how cute!) was only 2 euro and I promise I've been wanting one for months now. I tried a couple of similar hats in Brussels because they're oh so popular there, but I just couldn't find a good one. I'm happy I finally found a decent one.

That's all from me dear readers. I hope you're not drinking too much because it will kill you. LOL sorry, I felt like being random!
