My recent posts have contained plenty of reasons why I'm personally craving Autumn. Here comes another one to add to the list: Gossip Girl Season 5.
As a major Blair and Chuck shipper, I'm eating my insides until I find out whether Blair is pregnant with Chuck's baby. Even though, as I just outlined, I'm a Chair shipper - that always makes me 'lol - I hope B's not pregnant for now. Maybe later on in the series, but not now please!
I figured out that until we catch a glimpse of Blair's belly or lack of it, I might as well stare endlessly at the spoiler pictures from GG's Season 5 to check out what everyone is wearing. If you would like to join me on this staring activity, then keep on reading this post. I've selected some of my favourite looks so far. I just can't help but feel that this series is going to be incredibly inspiring, fashion-wise I mean!
Starting off with Blair herself in this pretty yellow outfit. The season kicks off in late Summer, hence the bright, sleeveless clothing that most of the characters are wearing. Apart from the girly frills on the top, I really like that particular shade of yellow. Unfortunately for me, I can't pull off many shades of yellow. I feel it doesn't quite match my skintone. Thankfully, mustard hues look okay on me, at least I have that.
Here's yet another look from Blair, and it's yellow again! Is it yellow day? Are they having a yellow party? I'm going paranoid about all this yellow overdose, it must mean something. Oh well, until we find out whether there's some correlation, we can admire the return of Blair's typical head accessories! Woohoo! Blair's hair accessories are always used to symbolise her power and authority, just like a queen's crown. Will Blair restore her dominion over the Upper East Side after plenty of tumultuous months? We'll have to wait and see.
Serena ain't joking either. In all her blonde splendour, Serena will grace our TVs in this interesting combination featuring a mixture of neutral and dark, Autumn-like colours. You bet Serena is also looking forward to Autumn like yours truly? My favourite item from this outfit is her waistcoat, which I think is a feather waistcoat. I hope it is to be honest, would love to see her rocking the feather trend.
I spare 'Serena's cousin' any comments, because alas, they would be very bad ones. Instead, I invite you to drool at Serena's blazer. That coral colour is simply stunning, yet I'm mostly in awe at the way she paired the same coral colour with turqoise accessories. I would have never thought about that, the shame, the pity! The turquoise + pink colour combination would also work beautifully in Spring. Full marks to Serena for this outfit!
The quality of this picture is horrible, I apologise, but I posted it anyway. This lady over here should be Nate's new flame, and surprise, suprise - or not - she's older than our favourite Archibald boy. I included this picture because she's wearing a gorgeous orange, bodycon dress and we all know that orange is one of it-colours next season. I would have paired this dress with black shoes, but I really like the nude shoes too. The more options the better :)
To conclude this entry, here's another look from Miss Van der Woodsen. This is an outfit I would definitely wear for a number of reasons. Firstly, I am head over heels with that chiffon maxi skirt. Red is such a versatile colour and very 'in' next Autumn as well. Oh, and what a lovely waistcoat. It looks very elaborate and embellished, very Serena right? I'm sure Serena isn't wearing flip-flops during the actual scenes, she's merely sporting them in this photo because it's a behind the scenes capture. Last but not least, please note her amazing chain necklace which finishes the look flawlessly.
Eeek, the wait is too long! But let's be optimistic, we have only a few days left to find out how the Upper East drama will unfold. I'm ready to bet there's going to be hell loads of it, as always!
