Chanel Métiers d’Art Paris-Edinburgh 2013

Dear Readers,

Apart from promising myself I'm never going out without an umbrella again, I also solemnly vowed to sit down, stop drooling and get round writing this post about the Chanel Métiers d’Art Paris-Edinburgh 2013 collection, showcased yesterday at Linlithgow Palace in Scotland.

Upon viewing the photos from this very Scottish-inspired collection, I entered a state of despair because I knew it, I knew I had to get those plaid pants I saw on sale last week! Chanel's Pre-Fall collections are always those which best exemplify the house's craftsmanship and tend to be the ones with the most elaborate details. No other venue could have suited a collection of tartan, tweed and 'got to snatch one or two' white bow-blouses other than the palace that saw the birth of Mary Queen of Scots. What I personally loved was the marriage of old and new - typical Karl! - and the choice of quiffed hair. Oh, and whilst I am not very much drawn to pattern-blocking myself, I love the pieces seperately and it's safe to say I'd wear most of them.

One can't help but notice the grunge vibe behind the collection. Weird, almost, yet still intriguing is the androgyny it portrays as well. I think I prefer this year's collection over last year's Bombay bonanza. Yes, I definitely do like this one better.
