Miuccia Prada Reveals Great Gatsby Costumes

So basically my darling younger sister is obsessed (for want of a better word..) with anything Fitzgerald. Can you imagine her state of mind knowing that an adaptation of what is arguably considered his best book is set to be released this Summer? She's very excited.

Since our conversations touch on the subject nine times out of ten, and even more so, since the adaptation of Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is being directed by none other than Baz Luhrmann, I found myself being sucked into the air of expectancy. Guilty, totally.

Curious to see what the costumes for the movie set in the roaring twenties are going to look like? Well, very glamourous. Very twenties European aristocracy style. Miuccia Prada finally released four of the sketches of her costumes for the movie. The Italian designer, who is working with movie costume designer Catherine Martin on forty looks, unveiled four of the glitzy, embellished, fringed, sequined costumes inspired by designs from the Miu Miu and Prada archives.

My personal favourite is the orange organza dress with scale-style sequin detailing. Drool material.
