Lily Allen unveils 'Lucy in Disguise'

Dear Readers,

NO!!
One of my lifetime aspirations is to go beneath some people's windows and blast Lily Allen's 'Fuck You' at full volume. That would be really liberating. I will definitely try that out one day.

Until yesterday I would thank God for sending Lily Allen in the world simply because of her music. She has provided me with such good songs that I can relate too very well. But now I have to be grateful for another Lily Allen 'by-product': her clothing line 'Lucy in Disguise'. Frankly speaking, when I heard about her fashion venture, I was quite perplexed. I never thought of Lily Allen as a 'Style Icon'. Don't get me wrong, she has come a LONG way from her prom dress and converse days. I don't think I ever got over that atrocious combination that was so typical of Allen in her career's early days. Luckily, her latest fashion choices have significantly improved. She has sported some stunning outfits lately. I really like some of her recent looks, especially when she wore some Chanel pieces (iSwoon). But still, to me she was never an 'Olsen' or a 'Waldorf'.

However, even though I don't particularly look up to her and her style, I have to admit that Allen, and her sister, did do an excellent job with their 'Lucy in Disguise' clothing line. Why do I like it? Well, it's vintage. VERY VINTAGE. Lily Allen admits that she's 'always been into vintage' and that before she became famous it was all she ever wore. Ehh, Lily, why didn't you stick to that then? Okay, sorry, I really need to remove that dress + Converse picture out of my mind. I know.

Lily and her sister have recently opened their own vintage store too. The two sisters say that after opening their store, they felt that they had to 'create vintage styles with more contemporary, clean lines'. The collection, which Lily describes as 'eclectic', features jumpsuits, tea-dresses, ruffle dresses, maxi-dresses and full skirts. You can immediately sense the vibe of the seventies in these pieces. There are some pieces inspired by the twenties, the thirties, the forties, and the fifties. My personal favourite is the South Kensington blue maxi dress :) The dress is shown in the first picture of the lot.

So here it is. These are some pictures from the 'Lucy in Disguise' collection, that I've taken from Vogue. I'm glad to see that there are no trainers paired with these dresses. YAY!

I like this converted version of you dear Lily. I promise I will try very hard to eliminate your dress + converse combos from my curly head!
