There are only a few instances where it's justifiable not to please Anna Wintour. Lady Gaga leaking American Vogue's September 2012 cover over Twitter is one of them. She said that 'the underground kids' deserved to see this. Why, thank you.
In a shot by the excellent Mert & Markus, Gaga graces the cover of the highly anticipated 120th anniversary September issue of American Vogue. So the rumours were right, it was the 26th year old singer that covered the biggest issue ever - even bigger than the legendary September 2007 issue! - due out on August 14th.
Styling by Grace Coddington, dress by Marc Jacobs, Gaga makes a show-stopping cover girl for a magazine with 916 pages of holiness. If Gaga's afro and hourglass figure weren't enough, the singer is also pictured in an oversized, flamboyant pink hat and nothing else in a spread inside the magazine. In her interview with American Vogue, Gaga reveals all about how she loves sex on the beach (and no, it's not the cocktail...), her new fragrance, her music and how she appreciates having moments of anonymity away from the eyes of the media.
Do I like Gaga's second cover for American Vogue? I do. What I usually look for in September covers is something that makes them stand out, something that makes them easy to remember. I now have a mission, I must lay my not so manicured hands on this issue as soon as possible.

her face looks so thin! poor Gaga! I wouldn't say it's a pretty cover but it's definitely an eye-catching and interesting one.
