Vogue Nippon's Marie Antoinette

Dear Readers,

Unless you live on the moon, you'd know that Baroque is the new black this season. In spite of my very-much-declared preference towards minimalism, I can't resist maximalism if it's related, even vaguely, to my beloved Marie Antoinette of France. I professed my love to her quite a few times already didn't I? For Vogue Nippon's October issue, talented photographer Giampaolo Sgura and opulent editor-in-chief Anna dello Russo teamed up to create this parade of decadence that is as delicious as a tray of Laduree macaroons. The photos definitely have a lot going on, but I love how the props look just right when paired with those anything-but-subtle frocks. Let them eat cake!
