Electra Goes to Somerset House

'What do you wear to Somerset House during London Fashion Week?' is a question I always hoped I'd ask myself. Yesterday I was lucky enough to do it.

As you'll see in the coming posts over the next few days, I managed to bag myself an exhibition pass for Somerset House - London Fashion Week hub! - for the duration of LFW. I set out for The Strand on Sunday eager to spend the day looking at the finest emerging jewellery, millinery and fashion designers at the iconic House. Whereas I'll be able to share with you details of what I've seen in future posts, I want to focus on what I wore in this particular entry.

I've never taken my wig out for a ride here in London, so I figured out that LFW would be the perfect excuse to do so. I wanted to opt for something very French-inspired - minimal yet identifiable - and I think I managed quite well. Do you like my new Forever 21 cat-eye specs? I'm head over heels with them.

Street Style: London Fashion Week at Somerset House

Somerset House was brimming with fashion royalty, we just had to snap a few street style shots. It was really difficult to narrow down my choice to a few favourites, but I truly believe the ladies and gents I'm featuring in this post stole the sartorial spotlight. Check them out on my Facebook Page in this new Street Style album I just set up!

SCOOP INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOW FEBRUARY 2013

The February 2013 edition of Scoop International Fashion Show shall forever be remembered as the first 'big' event I attended here in London. Despite having received quite a few event invites from the British capital over the past few months, this was the first I could actually attend personally.

The event brought together a selection of international designers that showcased their Autumn / Winter collections for the scores of buyers who also attended the show. There was a lot to see in terms of variety and colour, but it was the mix of different countries represented that truly gave the show its richness.

Set in the gorgeously lit Saatchi Gallery in central London, the event seemed to attract quite a few attention. Visitors were also given complementary drinks and some - including myself! - were lucky enough to be given a lift in what seemed to be a cross between a pram and a rickshaw from Sloane Square station. I must admit that was quite amusing!

To my pleasure, there were also items from more established designers like Vivienne Westwood, Kenzo and House of Harlow, which I touched and raved about for nearly 3 minutes each. Fangirl moments in the house.

The works which caught my eye included a line inspired by vixen Brigitte Bardot, a minimalistic silk-based collection by Marina London as well as a line of eye-catching artistic scarves by Rosemary Goodenough. They're officially on my radar!
