Five Things You Should Keep In Your Bag In Winter

Dear Readers,

Today is such an important day for yours truly. I officially thank the heavens for sending some cold to this island today because I finally wore my faux fur stole. It's looking a lot like Winter, dear readers, and I'm extremely happy about that.

So, before allowing the cold to creep in even further, I wanted to share my five must-haves in my Winter handbag. Whilst I can't go out without a pocket fan and a deodorant during Summer, I can't forget the following items at home when I'm out in the cold, cold breeze.

Winter Must Haves

1. Umbrella: I always tend to start with the obvious right? Thanks to climate change and greenhouse gases - I am obviously being sarcastic over there - the weather has become rather unpredictable. One moment the sun is shining as if it were paid millions to do it, the next it's raining cars and dogs. Whilst this sort of weather is more common in certain areas of the planet - Brussels, for instance! - you shouldn't go out without your umbrella even if the meteorologist says it's not going to rain. Trust me, it's personal experience speaking!

2. Hand Cream: Oh, me and my dehydrated hands! I honestly can't explain why I have dehydrated skin. I drink so much I could live in the toilet. In Winter, skin dryness is very common and alas, it's quite unsightly too! I recommend carrying a little hand cream in your handbags. I personally use a really good one, but since I'm a lazy young woman, I don't feel like taking it out of my bag to check its exact name. Tweet me for more information, it works miracles.

3. Lip Balm: The dryness issue affects lips as well. Since I'm so fond of lipsticks, I just can't afford having dry, coarse lips, or else my make up looks flaky, and consequently, horrible. A good lip balm, preferably with a good taste, is a must during the chilly times of the year. I keep mine handy and I apply often.

4. An Extra Pair Of Socks: My mother's influence me is almost boundless. When I was a little child, I remember that whenever it rained, the street in front of my primary school used to be completely flooded with water. I would, inevitably, end up walking into puddles. Therefore, my mother always gave me an extra pair of socks. Changing my wet socks would keep me warm during the entire day. I kind of kept that habit during the years and I suggest it to everyone. Thank you Mum for the tip!

5. Beanie: Last, but definitely not least, is a beanie. I live in beanies during the winter time, because I think that one of the biggest 'fashion issues' during winter is how to keep you hair looking good in the rain and the wind. The answer, dear readers, are beanies. These cute hats will (a) keep your hair from getting wet when it rains, (b) dry/cover your hair when you got soaked already, (c) stop your hair from flying all over the place when the wind sweeps your locks to Neverland. Oh, and they keep you looking pretty, and warm!

As per tradition, I'm off to prepare myself a nice, warm hot chocolate. Winter is here!
