Chanel Cruise Collection

Dear Readers,

When Karl Lagerfeld asked me to let him use one of my gardens for the launch of Chanel's Cruise Collection, I couldn't say no. Who says no to Karl? Even though I'm quite possessive of my chateaux, Versailles is always open for our dear friend Karl. I almost felt like the collection was inspired by our fashion at the court, very Baroque, and very teenage me. I didn't wear creepers though, but I might start liking them now. Pastels are always my cup of tea, just like candy-coloured hair, so I'll make sure to explore those details further in the coming days. I also spotted a very masculine jacket which reminded me of my dearest Count Fersen and the hair was very Rooney Mara. We never get bored here at Versailles, not when Karl is around.

Please read the above paragraph as follows:

Karl Lagerfeld presented the Chanel Cruise Collection for 2012 in one of the stunning gardens of Versailles. As was almost expected, the collection was mostly based on pastel colours: hues which also featured on the models' hair and shoes. The collection had a very young Marie-Antoinette feeling to it and it also exemplified most of the staple Baroque fashion details. Blunt fringes, dark eyebrows and defined facial features were all very reminiscent of Rooney Mara. And just when you thought there wasn't any plausible reason for you to start liking creepers, Karl brings them out on the runway, and you might be even considering buying one now.

Chanel. Karl. Versailles. Marie Antoinette. La perfection!
