I cannot think of a better expression than the overly cliched 'all good things come to an end'. It does quite deliver the message doesn't it?
The Malta Fashion Week and Awards drew to a close with a grand awards ceremony on Saturday evening at the MCC in Ta' Qali. Apart from seeing some of the best pieces already showcased during Fashion Week, we also had the opportunity to witness the work of several other designers including Jean Fares and Aminaka Wilmont. Even though I was seated in the second row, it was a bit difficult for me to capture good photos from that angle, but I tried my best!
After the ceremony, the White Hall was quickly invaded for the official afterparty, which undoubtedly turned out to be as enjoyable as the rest of the events of the week. I can't deny that it was extremely fun to get to see the fashion crowd wind down over a couple of drinks. Some party really hard, you know!
On my part, I'm going to miss the hectic routine it all brought with it. Coming back home, rushing to open Photoshop, eating a Fitness cereal bar and downing a bottle of Diet Coke before writing the night away.
It would be highly ungrateful for me not to conclude with a 'thank you' note. First and foremost, thank you to all the Fashion Week and Awards team for putting up such a professional ensemble of events. The effort paid off, undoubtedly. Moreover, thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend the events and give our take on what we saw in front of us. I'm sure all the bloggers involved learned so much during the past week!
Since I'm a disgustingly positive person, I managed to find something I liked in each and every event (not like that was very difficult!) , but what I enjoyed most, in all honesty, was meeting up with fellow bloggers every single day. I think this was probably the first time we all came together as a community - in spite of our very different opinions and tastes - and I'm really happy about that. Mixing with bloggers can be very instructive on a blogging level: you learn the odd camera tips, you acquire fancy new terminology and you might be even lucky enough to share some basic HTML tips. However, most of all, I got the chance to get to know these people on a human level. That is what counts the most. I miss your faces already.
I really feel like this was a defining week.
Looking forward to next year already (cliche conclusion: check!)
