Marc Jacobs SS2013

Dear Readers,

Amongst the many thoughts that lulled me to sleep last night was the following, 'Why can't I find a collection from New York Fashion Week that I adore?'. I've been following collections unveil one after another, I like one or two aspects/pieces maximum, then I sigh miserably hoping that the next blows my mind away.

I woke up this morning to a blogosphere drooling over Marc Jacobs's SS2013 collection and after 0.3 seconds I joined in the general jaw-dropping sentiment. While I've always championed this sort of work over what he does chez Louis Vuitton,  this collection was an unpredictable surprise that finally filled up that tiny hole in my 'tiny-disillusioned-with-NYFW' heart.

This sixties-inspired, trousers-lacking collection obviously took me back to my very much adored Fendi SS2012 collection that I've praised endless times before, only the former looks slightly more urban than the latter. In addition Fendi had brighter pops of colour when compared to the almost predominant monochrome palette chosen by Jacobs. Its clean lines and quasi-invisible seams make me smile from ear to ear.

Before allowing myself to treat myself to a quick afternoon nap, I want to link you to the full collection so you can view it in its entirety. Check out those ruffles and scallop hems!

Any favourites from NYFW?
